Boris Vasilievich Korneev (Russian: Бори́с Васи́льевич Корне́ев; February 15, 1922, Petrozavodsk, Soviet Russia – December 24, 1973, Leningrad, USSR) – Soviet Russian painter and art teacher, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation, professor of the Leningrad Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture named after Ilya Repin, lived and worked in Leningrad, regarded as one of the major representatives of the Leningrad school of painting,[1] most famous for his genre painting and portraits.

Boris Vasilievich Korneev was born February 15, 1922, in Petrozavodsk, Karelia Province, Soviet Russia.
In 1952 Boris Korneev graduated from Leningrad Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture named after Ilya Repin in Viktor Oreshnikov workshop. He studied of Boris Fogel, Genrikh Pavlovsky, Semion Abugov, Andrey Mylnikov.
Since 1952 Boris Korneev has participated in Art Exhibitions. He painted portraits, genre pintings, landscapes, and still lifes. His personal exhibitions were in Leningrad (1975), and Saint Petersburg (1997).
Boris Korneev was a member of the Leningrad Union of Artists since 1954.
In years 1962–1973 Boris Korneev worked as Art teacher in Ilya Repin Institute, professor since (1972), Honored Artist of the Russian Federation (1965).
Boris Vasilievich Korneev died on December 24, 1973 in Leningrad at the fifty-first year of life. His paintings reside in State Russian Museum, State Tretyakov gallery, in Art museums and private collections in Russia,[2] in the U.S., England, France,[3] and throughout the world.
